Molecular characterization of blaNDM-1 in a sequence type 235 Pseudomonas aeruginosa isolate from France.

چکیده
An NDM-1 carbapenemase-producing Pseudomonas aeruginosa isolate was recovered from a patient hospitalized in France after a previous hospitalization in Serbia. Genetic studies revealed that the blaNDM-1 gene was surrounded by insertion sequence ISAba125 and a truncated bleomycin resistance gene. This blaNDM-1 region was a part of the variable region of a new complex class 1 integron bearing IS common region 1 (ISCR1). The presence of ISPa7 upstream of this integron suggests insertion in a chromosomally located Tn402-like structure.

Molecular epidemiology of colistin-resistant Pseudomonas aeruginosa producing NDM-1 from hospitalized patients in Iran
Objective(s): Resistance to carbapenems is the principal reason for the continuing utilization of colistin as a last resort choice for treating the infections resulted from multidrug carbapenem-resistant Pseudomonas aeruginosa (CRPA) isolates. The assessment of antimicrobial resistance pattern, the prevalence of carbapenem-resistance determinants, and molecular epidemiology of colistin-resistan...
متن کاملThe clinical isolate Pseudomonas aeruginosa MMA83 carries two copies of the blaNDM-1 gene in a novel genetic context.
The genetic context of the blaNDM-1 gene in the genome of Pseudomonas aeruginosa MMA83 was investigated. Sequencing of the cosmid selected for the blaNDM-1 gene revealed the presence of two blaNDM-1 copies in the genome of P. aeruginosa MMA83 in a unique genetic environment. Additionally, mating assays, DNA-DNA hybridization, and an S1 nuclease assay strongly suggest that the blaNDM-1 gene in P...

Sir, Acquired metallo-b-lactamases (MBLs) are the most common acquired carbapenemases in Pseudomonas aeruginosa. They confer a broad-spectrum b-lactam resistance profile, including resistance to the antipseudomonal penicillins, cephalosporins and carbapenems, that is not antagonized by the available b-lactamase inhibitors. Most MBL-producing strains exhibit a multidrug resistance profile, also ...
متن کاملFirst detection of insertion sequence element ISPa1328 in the oprD porin gene of an imipenem-resistant Pseudomonas aeruginosa isolate from an idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis patient in Marseille, France
We report here the first case of a carbapenem-resistant Pseudomonas aeruginosa clinical isolate harboring the insertion sequence (IS) element ISPa1328 in the oprD gene in an idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis patient in France previously treated with imipenem.
متن کاملWhole-Genome Sequence of Multidrug-Resistant Pseudomonas aeruginosa Strain BAMCPA07-48, Isolated from a Combat Injury Wound
We report here the complete genome sequence of Pseudomonas aeruginosa strain BAMCPA07-48, isolated from a combat injury wound. The closed genome sequence of this isolate is a valuable resource for pathogenome characterization of P. aeruginosa associated with wounds, which will aid in the development of a higher-resolution phylogenomic framework for molecular-guided pathogen-surveillance.
